As a kid I konsidered
when I grow
I wanna know
what I'm gonna be

I thought I'll be successful
I'll be rich, famous, a celebrity
I'll be top of the charts
and win the world's hearts
with all my works of charity

I'll be a fireman
policeman, doctor
cowboy, chemist, stunt man
I'll be a chef in the army
cooking pasta and ham

I grew old
and now I know
All these things are only what I do
They don't make what's me or you
I grew wise(er)
and now I see

The only thing I really want
is learning Just to be!
